Our Memories

This is a place for our family to log our memories and our comments on those memories. Some day, we will print this out so we can each have a copy of our Family Journal.

Dad's Patience

Today as i was drinking a Dr. Pepper, it started me thinking of other times i have had Dr. Pepper(im not usually a big fan of brown pops, more into fruity ones). Soon i remembered and then realized just how patient dad had been with Mom, Karen and I. During Karens treatment, Mom, Dad, Karen, and I obviously took many trips back and forth weekly to Denver. Today talking to mom we came to realize something, at Minimart, dad would ask each of us, "Would you like something to drink" We would all reply "no..." and have a reason why. By the time we were back on the highway and on our way to Denver, dads large Big Gulp full of Dr. Pepper began to appeal to us. We would each ask for a drink over and over till it was gone. Again, the next trip dad would ask us if we would like anything to drink. We all would reply no, and sure enough soon as we were on the road again we would all share and drink dads pop. This happened over and over. I never realized this before, but dad was so patient in not saying "if your not getting anything dont drink mine" no he didnt say anything just continued to ask us knowing inside that we would just drink his anyway. What a guy!!
